What can I use 14 Gauge Wires for?

14 gauge wires are best used in 15 amps circuits with breakers of similar rating. Feel free to use 14 gauge wires for light fixtures, lighting circuits, automobile wiring, and general receptacles. The 14 AWG wires also work well with low-impedance speakers in audio applications. Generally, you can use them for light-duty appliances and circuits in your living rooms, bedrooms and hallways

HOW ARE 14 GAUGE WIRES DIFFERENT FROM 16 GAUGE FOR SPEAKERS?

14-gauge speaker wire (1.6 mm) is thicker than 16-gauge (1.3 mm) wires. A thicker wire offers less resistance to the audio signals and hence you hear the better quality. Also, it can run for a longer distance like 40 feet for a 4ohm load, 60 feet for a 6ohm load, and 80 feet for an 8ohm load. Experts say not to extend the length of the cable for more than 50 feet for the best results. So, plan accordingly.

HOW ARE COPPER-CLAD ALUMINUM CABLES DIFFERENT FROM PURE COPPER CABLES?

Copper-clad aluminum cables have an aluminum rod at the core with copper wires wrapped around it. They are lighter, malleable, and affordable; the very reasons people buy CCA cables over pure copper wires.

Also, CCA cables offer you high fidelity sound quality without extra cost. Not to mention, all the cables are tested before shipping. So, what you receive is a tried and tested 14 gauge speaker wiresfrom us.

Can I Use 14 Gauge Wires in 20-amps circuits?

No. If you want to power heavier appliances, you should buy our 12 gauge wire. It supports up to 20 amps rated appliances such as 120-volt ACs and outdoor receptacles. Click here to buy 12 gauge wire instead.

Why AWG rating?

AWG rating is American Wire Gauge, and it represents the size of the conductor without the protective jacket. AWG is a standardized rating that gives you the confidence that your wires are up to specifications in size and performance. For instance, all 14 gauge AWG wires are 0.064 in (1.6mm).
